Content creators are constantly looking for new things to show, and behind-the-scenes videos are all the rage! Your followers don’t only want to see the final product, but also the work that goes into it.
Behind-the-scenes content can give you something that scripted content never could – a real connection with your audience. Through showing your followers the work that goes into creating your product, you’re showing your brand from a different angle. You’re taking off the mask of perfect studio shots and showing your brand’s face without any makeup. Not all brands are brave enough to bare their faces to their audience!
Shooting BTS videos is not as simple as just recording parts of your day. You still need to make the shots interesting and engaging. In addition to that, they need to have a purpose. What do you want to show your followers, and why? Here are some tips for great BTS shots:
Introduce your team
Your followers might be familiar with some people from your team, or none at all! Introducing them to the people that make the magic happen can make your brand appear more human. Help your followers put a face to the brand.
Vlog your day
You probably know popular daily vloggers on YouTube that make bank showing people what they do every day. It doesn’t have to be exciting. In fact, most days consist of cooking, cleaning, chores, and work. And people still watch! Show your daily challenges and wins to your audience, and give them an idea of how your product is made. The best part is – you don’t need to script anything; just go for it!
Share your story
When you’re reading a book or watching a movie, you can enjoy the acting, dialogue, outfits, and more. The thing that will make you stay is the story. A video is no different. What’s the story behind your brand? How did you make it come to life? Tell that story (or any other) through your BTS video. Don’t just give people a collection of shots that are not tied together.
