As a fellow entrepreneur, who has been in business for over a decade, I have made my fair share of mistakes. In fact, I’ve made enough mistakes for both of us, and I would like to share some of my best tips for mistakes to avoid below. So, here are 5 common business mistakes that you can make!

1) Don’t fear failure. – Entrepreneurship in and of itself is a risk, so congrats on being a risk-taker! Whenever you do something new, there will always be a learning curve, and failure can make a great teacher. Some of my best lessons have come because of failures, and those lessons taught me how to bounce back stronger and better, so don’t be afraid to fail.

2) Don’t undersell yourself. – When starting a business, it can be very hard to know how to price your products or services. So many people just want ANY sell, so they may be willing to undervalue or undersell themselves and their offerings. Don’t be that person!! Know your target market, and priced accordingly. If your friends and family think your prices are too high, they may not be your target. Know your worth… and add tax!

3) Don’t throw money away. – In business, you can feel pressure to look like you “have it all together”. You want the logo, the website, the branding, the merchandise, the team, etc. and all these things cost money. It’s important to do your research to know what you need and WHEN. In technology, they have a term called a Minimal Viable Product, or MVP, which basically strips things down to the ESSENTIALS. Ask yourself, have you wasted money by putting the cart before the horse?

4) Don’t avoid contracts. – Contracts can be intimidating and feel overly “official,” especially when working with people you know, but money can ruin relationships. By not having contracts and accepting someone’s word, you’re putting yourself and your business at risk. I have learned this lesson the hard way, so please take my word, and get it IN WRITING.

5) Don’t try to do everything yourself. – When you first start a business, you’re usually wearing all the hats. You’re the CEO, marketing team, design team, shipping and handling, customer service, etc. As your business progresses, it’s important to focus your energy on your area of expertise and outsource to experts to focus on their areas of expertise. This may cost more, but the right professionals on your team will help expand your profit with their professional knowledge.

Avoiding these 5 common business mistakes will make your life easier and prevent you from faltering at important steps in your budding business.

Thanks to the team at iSocialPR, you don’t have to make these same mistakes in 2021. We have a dedicated knowledgeable team of professionals ready to help you take your business to the next level. Let us help you develop a digital marketing plan that’s built to last!

It is important to connect with your Instagram followers for content marketing and digital marketing. However, standing out as more than just another page on Instagram can be hard. That’s why we believe connecting with your audience is such an important aspect to keep you getting more views and more followers. Sounds like exactly what you’re looking for, right? Well, look no further because we have laid out 5 of the best tips to keep your audience engaged and coming back for more!

Posting, posting, and more posting

It may seem obvious to keep posting content on the regular, however, there is a bit of a science to it. While it may seem like spamming your stuff is a great idea, you may want to back up a bit first. What do most people rely on? Consistency! That’s right, people love having something on the regular, so it’s not about spamming your posts, it’s about maintaining a consistent schedule to boost meaningful content. Try posting once every day to maintain that connection with your audience.

Communication is a two-way street

Now that you’ve started a consistent posting schedule, what’s next? Well, we have a few suggestions. First and foremost we all want genuine engagement in our social media; Actively engaging your audience is the best way to do that. Ask them questions and use thought-provoking content to get your followers feeling like they are part of something. Most importantly continue the conversation in the comments.

Use Instagram features to your advantage

Stories are a great feature to use and can further enhance your follower’s experience. They will want to see you and hear what you have to say. People always value what feels genuine and who better to show them who you are than yourself!

Host a Giveaway!

This is a win-win for your popularity growing on Instagram, hosting a giveaway is a great way to garner more followers. By hosting a giveaway you’ll ask your followers to tag their friends, putting more eyes on your page!

Getting a social media audit

So you’ve followed all these tips and are still looking for more ways to attract interest? A social media audit can help you focus in on what you’re missing. You can end up missing something small that you haven’t thought of and having that second party reviewing your content will make all the difference. Many successful professionals pay someone else to review their products, why not join them?

Want more help? Contact us to get your free social media audit today and start getting more traffic tomorrow!
You have leads coming in from social media, you’ve grown your channels, but now you’re looking to diversify your business. You’re wondering — “Should I start a blog, too?”

We’re going to do you a favor and give the bottom line up front: It will help your business to start a blog.

Here’s 5 reasons you need a blog on your website:

Drive Traffic

You have a website and social media channels to get your products in front of your target demographic’s eyes. In other words, you have those channels to drive traffic. When you add a blog into the mix, you get the added bonus of easy search engine optimization and organic traffic — high- quality traffic from people who are actively searching for your services or products.

Diversify Income

When you have a blog, you can use it to diversify your income. You can use it to sell affiliate products or to host sponsored posts – posts where a company pays to have you mention their product on your blog!

Inform your Customers

If you have your own products, or even if you just want your customers to get to know you more, a blog is a great way to do that. Posts can go in-depth about specific products, and your customers can research to their hearts’ content in order to make an informed purchase. They can also get to know you better, which helps grow customer loyalty.

Reach a Wider Customer Base

There are certain people who aren’t on social media – either on specific platforms or at all. If the vast majority of your views and customers come from social media, there is a huge demographic you are missing out on! Use a blog to reach those who opt for Google to help them make purchases rather than Facebook or Instagram.

Free up Time

This is where we come in. We are now offering Blog-Writing Services! Free up some of your most valuable resources by letting us write your blog for you — and watch as the traffic and sales flow in.

These 5 reasons are why you need a blog on your website. So, hire the best content and digital marketing agency in Detroit today!
