How Bellis Therapeutic Spa Used Social Media Contest to Boost Engagement By 79 Percent

This summer, Bellis decided to celebrate it’s 10thanniversary with a social media contest. We asked participants to share their favorite memories at the spa with other Bellis’ Facebook followers for a chance to win a free massage. The purpose of this campaign was to draw the interest and engagement of both current, and previous clients who many not have visited in awhile. We also wanted to use the comments to create a positive impression in the mind of prospective customers, who may then be more likely to visit the spa themselves.

We used Facebook’s targeted ads feature to reach each demographic that Bellis was seeking to engage and garner attention from. iSocialPR used their email list to retarget their existing customers on Facebook. Then, we created a lookalike audience through Facebook that matched that same data segmentation of various user attributes, such as sex, age, region and interests, among others.


The campaign garnered Bellis a 79% increase in post engagement, nearly 10,000 impressions, and a significant increase in the amount of clicks to the spa’s website.
